To shoot the moon means to take a high-risk gamble to try and win big, or to attempt an extremely difficult task! The phrase has origins in trick-taking games such as Hearts. In Hearts to ‘shoot the moon’, a player tries to win every single heart card and the queen of spades in one round – cards which would normally score you negative points. In successfully shooting the moon in Hearts, instead of receiving a negative score, all other players would receive a penalty. Many card games will have a similar ‘all or nothing’ shoot the moon mechanic. If you or someone you know tends to go big or go home, this sticker will fit that vibe!
